Association Legislative Agenda
1.
Support the university system budget as requested by the UA Board of Regents.
2.
Support deferred maintenance via creation of a maintenance fund.
3.
Recruit and retain outstanding faculty and staff with competitive pay and benefits including a defined benefits option.
4.
Continue the UA Scholars and Alaska Performance Scholarships to help keep UA affordable, given that tuition increases will be required. Protect the Higher Education Act from non-designated uses.
5.
Support a safe, secure, and respectful campus environment for UA.
6.
Use earnings from the Permanent Fund to provide a steady income to the State while maintaining annual payments to the residents of Alaska.
